If you are an IMC member and are interested in technology consulting or consulting to high-tech clients, please join us at our 4th meeting of the IMC OC & SoCal Technology SIG on Tuesday, January 12, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the conference room of Laurel Electronics, Inc., 3183-G Airway Ave., Costa Mesa, CA 92626 (close to the intersection of the 405 and 55 freeways). Map. Those interested may proceed to a local restaurant following our meeting.

Our topic will be "Risk Reduction in the Product Development Process." Our discussion leader will be Jeff Gotro, Ph.D., a process-oriented materials scientist with extensive experience in new product development. Please be prepared to discuss your insights on risk reduction in new product development.

About Jeff Gotro, Ph.D., President & Founder, InnoCentrix, LLC

Jeff Gotro has over 26 years of experience in polymers for electronic applications and composites, having held scientific and leadership positions at IBM, AlliedSignal, Honeywell and Ablestik Laboratories. He has been consulting with companies ranging from early-stage start-ups to Fortune 50 companies, offering proficiency in managing the research, development and commercialization of new products. He has published 60 technical papers (including 4 book chapters) in the field of polymeric materials for advanced electronic packaging applications, holds 13 issued US patents, and has 7 patents pending. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Northwestern University with a specialty in polymer science, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering / Materials Science from Marquette University.

The Mission of the Technology SIG is to:
  • Identify opportunities in consulting to high-tech clients.
  • Develop more effective consulting skills in serving high-tech clients.
  • Facilitate use of technology by client companies.
  • Support each other through networking and professional relationships.
  • Create a collaborative group of consultants serving high-tech clients or performing technology development.

IMC OC & SoCal SIG meetings are open to IMC members only. The Technology SIG is currently meeting in OC, but we can change our venue if so desired by SIG participants.
