The SFV-Area Breakfast meetings occur normally on the 3rd Friday of each month from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. Networking starting at 7:15 am September, through June each year.

The Economy continues to be a challenge and it is very difficult for all consultants but especially those in independent practice.

As consultants we excel at our craft which is our technical skill. However, many of us do not excel at sales skills. In a booming economy many of our clients find us or we are able to do a little networking and have plenty of business. But what happens when there is less business?
First, the larger consulting firms with better sales skills and full time sales personnel get the bulk of the work that is available.
Second, projects are often smaller than before and clients want a reduction in our rates.
Third, we have haphazard marketing and sales efforts that go up and down based on our work load. We spend time looking for work and when we find it then we are doing the work and not looking.
Fourth, we are not sales experts and as a result not very organized or polished in our sales efforts
Finally, those issues weigh on our confidence and then we become our own worst enemy with poor attitudes and disciplines.

It doesn't look like business is going to return to prior levels anytime soon so we need to figure out how to master sales and marketing if we are going to prosper. Jonathan Goldhill is known as The Growth Coach, he has not only grown his own consulting business but he also works with clients to grow their businesses. He will give us some tips on how we may be hurting our own efforts and how we can turn it around and master sales and marketing.

If you would like to learn how to grow your business in this economy then our meeting on Sept 17 is for YOU.
