Margie Hanson, an expert in online communication strategies and connections, will be the featured speaker at the Institute of Management Consultants’ SoCal Chapter breakfast meeting on February 2.

Hanson is the president of Communicating - Today's Way, Inc., an on-line business communications consulting and service firm established in 2000.

The Playa del Rey company identifies and, in most cases, implements tailor designed paths for clients’ businesses to effectively communicate via the Internet. Hanson’s aim is to assist clients in building and maintaining quality customer relationships for the purpose of new, repeat and referral business.

“There is no time to "miss" your mark when communicating with current and potential clients,” says Hanson. “We make sure you "hit" your mark with every interaction, and ensure your words really work.”

When dealing with clients, Hanson utilizes her social selling and content marketing expertise to focus three main areas:

  • Helping clients create their message
  • Creating clients’ communications platform
  • Designing clients resources

Hanson’s approach teaches businesses how to create "connecting" communications for social network postings, blog postings, email (1-to-1 & group), and live in person conversations. Clients learn how to sell without selling, as well as how to communicate "effectively" online and offline. This assistance is offered via training, consulting and ongoing coaching programs.

About Margie Hanson

Margie Hanson, graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Margie HansonAmherst, has nearly two decades of consulting experience as owner of Communicating – Today’s Way, Inc.

Her story began in 1978 when the telecommunications industry was just beginning to evolve publically. Fresh out of the mountains of Colorado, she went into a new industry pretty much known only by those who worked for Pac Bell (at the time) and those who served in the military. She remembers cold calling one day and telling a prospect that we were in the frontier days. He explicitly told her to call him back when we had our flags flying at the United Nations. Such fun memories.

Hanson spent 25+ years in corporate America as the new voice and data networking industry evolved. She treasures having a front row seat for much of the action that led to the platform we enjoy and use today. Working with Fortune 1000 companies throughout the United States as a sales and marketing professional, her responsibilities included sales and network design for the first public packet switching networks as well as being a member of the very first team of sales people for Cisco Systems. Margie indicates she was literally working with the internet when it was just a dirt road.

Today’s Way began in 2000 as a website design and content development business. Shortly thereafter, trainings were added for creating effective 1-to-1 email communications and for creating online newsletters with CRM functionality (enabling targeted communications and relationship building).
