wrote on the Chapter: Southern California wall: Roundtable Discussion on IMC SoCal Chapter Membership and Certification Benefits May 2, 2019 A roundtable discussion of the benefits of IMC SoCal Chapter membership and attainment of the Certified Management Consultant designation was held as part of our special meeting Thursday, May 2, at 5 p.m. The discussion picked up on the findings of a group of Pepperdine University Ed.D. candidates who prepared a report on the perceived value of IMC USA Chapter affiliation and achievement of the Certified Management Consultant designation for members of the professional organization. Several possible action items were outlined and discussed by IMC members, including information examining the consulting industry, identifying best practices, and evaluating the value of certification, as well as recent IMC USA member survey results regarding insights on the IMC brand and its perceived value. One of the most engaging topics was the study’s comparison of traditional consulting practices with practices required for success in the “new normal” of our disrupted consulting industry. “Our members and guests had a great discussion that will help our chapter craft a plan of action for the future,” says Chapter President Tom Robinson.
