Ms. Curry holds a B.A. in Recreation and Leisure Studies from California State University, Long Beach, and previously has held a Personal Training certification from the NASM, and Aesthetics licenses in California and Florida.
She has been a speaker at industry conferences, contributes to industry publications, and is an active community volunteer. Lynn received her CMC certification in 2010, and is an educator with Gerson Lehrman Councils.
Lynn is an active community volunteer and is currently on the Global Wellness Institute Spa Consulting Task Force. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Sonoma Valley High School Boosters Club, a 501(c)3 organization, as well as on the Governing Board at Sonoma Charter School. She is the 2010 recipient of the Marsha Walters Award for Exceptional Contribution to Sonoma Charter School, and holds a first degree black belt in the martial art of Taekwondo.
Memberships also include: ISPA (International Spa Association), ICMAD (International Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors), ProBeauty, and and is an active volunteer and participant with American Cancer Society, Sonoma Taekwondo, the Sonoma Valley Unified School District.
Lynn Curry works with many hotel and resort ownership groups and operators to develop their five star spa and fitness facilities. She founded Curry Spa Consulting LLC in 2011, and 2016 merged her company with Resources for Leisure Assets, with offices in Vienna, Dubai and Sonoma. She has consulting experience in the hospitality industry since 1996. Lynn project managed spa developments such as Island Spa Catalina, Montage Resort and Spa in Laguna and The Ritz-Carlton Spas of Bachelor Gulch, Laguna Niguel, and Dove Mountain. Other luxury sector spas for which she managed included The Four Seasons Resort Spas of Vail and Westlake Village, The Rosewood Hotel and Resort Spas of Sand Hill (San Francisco) and Mayakoba, Mexico. Smaller spas to her credit include Spa Terra, the spa in the wine cave at The Meritage Resort Napa, The Spa at the Wine and Roses Hotel in Lodi, and The Spa at Casa Munras in Monterey.
Numerous Casino Spas including Sheraton’s Wild Horse Pass Resort, Ameristar’s St. Charles and Black Hawk hotel properties, Boyd Gaming’s Spa at Blue Chip Resort in Indiana, are also on Lynn's resume as project manager. Additional projects include The Spa at Loews Coronado Bay Resort, and the Marriott Spas of Starr Pass in Tucson, Napa Valley, and The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Hotel.
Lynn’s career began as the Manager of Tourism Development for The Anaheim Visitor and Convention Bureau, leading to her group sales career with Hyatt Resorts Hawaii and then to Grand Wailea Resort and Spa in Maui, Hawaii, where she was intimately involved with the opening of Spa Grande. She remained with the property for almost five years and was acknowledged as Hyatt’s “Manager of the Quarter” in 1993.
After her tenure in Hawaii, Lynn was the Spa Director at the Hyatt Regency, Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale, during which time, she consulted on various projects for the spa’s management company. She then joined Natural Resources Spa Consulting and was their Senior Vice President for 14 years.
