Recognition and Awards
Help us to Sustain and Grow our IMC
Many members volunteer their time and talents to lead or support IMC at the Chapter or National levels. Others contribute to the profession of consulting or to their communities throughout their careers. These members serve as a model of the ideals and service commitment to the profession and are accordingly honored with awards in several areas.
Know a Member We Should Recognize?
Your peers who expend an extra effort on behalf of IMC deserve to be recognized. IMC wants to honor members who contribute to the Institute, the profession of management consulting, and the community. Without the efforts of our members, the IMC would not be the organization that it is today. And without your support, we are unable to know and acknowledge those contributions.
What’s in It for You?
By nominating your peers for these awards, you reinforce our culture of recognition of contribution and encourage them to volunteer their time and energy. People work harder when they know that their work matters. When you recognize their contributions, you help your peers to feel more personally invested in the success of our organization.
How to Recognize Others
Think about who you know who has contributed to programs, member services, certification, publicity, ethics, operations, conferences, public service, mentoring, education, governance, and international affiliations. Recognize them by verbally acknowledging their service, take a personal interest in their efforts, and nominate them for awards and recognition. You can also acknowledge noteworthy personal or team achievement by email, phone, or public meeting or event.
1. Review the recognition and awards currently available to members
2. Download and complete the appropriate form
3. Submit the form with the required information, endorsements, etc.
The processing of your nomination may take a few days or even weeks for the major awards, depending on the level of recognition.
Some nomination forms for chapter leadership, appreciation, or achievement awards may be downloaded and completed without the involvement of the Recognition and Awards Committee.
What You Can Expect from the Recognition and Awards Committee
- When a national nomination is submitted for an award, expect a response from the Executive Director to let you know IMC has received the application.
- This application is then forwarded to the Recognition and Awards Committee for review, according to the process outlined for the specific award.
When they feel their efforts and contributions are valued and appreciated, your peers are far more likely to support IMC. Recognizing others for stellar work is vital to our maintaining high morale and boosting productivity.
Recognition: It's simply straightforward. It's powerful. It's time well spent.
