The Institute of Management Consultant USA (IMC USA) is a 53-year certifying body and diverse membership organization. IMC USA helps management consultants startup, scale-up and sustain their practices through community, professional development and visibility.

IMC USA is a founding member of an international federation, The International Council of Management Consulting Institutes comprised of 50 countries, 64,000 consultants and 8,200 certified members.

The Certified Management Consultant® credential is recognized and respected globally as a mark of professionalism, competency and ethical standards. The CMC® communicates to clients that you are a trusted, knowledgeable, confident and valued resource to help achieve their goals.

For the purposes of this certification scheme a Management Consultant shall be defined as one who helps organizations to solve issues, create value, maximize growth, and improve performance through the application of their knowledge, techniques, and assets to provide objective advice, expertise, and specialist skills which the organization may be lacking.

This definition shall include those consultants who work alone as a solopreneur, as a partner or employee of a practice or firm and those who work as internal consultants in an organization or government body whose primary purpose is not management consultancy.

Establish IMC USA as the premier professional organization for management consultants in the U.S., serving solo practitioners, firm-based consultants, and internal corporate consultants, by establishing the CMC certification as a requirement for management consulting projects in both the public and private sectors.
