Stephen Kirkland

Stephen is the founder and sole member of Atlantic Executive Consulting, LLC. He consults with privately held companies and tax-exempt organizations across the country on complex compensation, tax, and financial issues. He also serves as an expert witness in court cases involving potentially unreasonable compensation, tax disputes, and other financial issues.

He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1982, a Certified Management Consultant since 2008, and Certified in Financial Forensics since 2008.

Stephen earned Bachelors in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from Emory University. He also earned a Masters in Tax Accounting from the University of Alabama.

He has been a member of the Institute of Managements Consultants – USA since 2008. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Forensic Economics, the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, WorldatWork, and the National Eagle Scout Association.

Stephen has written 200 articles on compensation, tax, and financial issues for professional journals. He is the author of America’s Best Tax Strategies (2004). He has been a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business and often speaks at conferences for financial professionals.

He is the Chair of the Board of Directors of an investment advisory firm. Stephen has also served on the Boards of multiple non-profit organizations.
