QuantumMark LLC received the prestigious honor of being awarded the first United States CMC-Firm designation by CMC-Global. Based in Reno, Nevada, QuantumMark is a certified women-owned project management and management consulting firm.
According to Certified Management Consultant® Diane Borhani, Founder and Managing Partner of QuantumMark, “The designation of QuantumMark as a CMC-Firm is a testimonial to the high standards we adhere to as Certified Management Consultants (CMCs). Importantly, CMCs are required to adhere to an Enforceable Code of Ethics, a Professional Code of Conduct, to a Code of Responsible Use of AI, and to the highest professional standards for management consultants.”
What the CMC-Firm Designation Means for Consulting Firms
The CMC-Firm designation extends the principles behind the individual Certified Management Consultant® (CMC®) certification to consulting firms.
CMC-Firms are evaluated on their commitment to professional standards, ethical practices, consultant development and the quality of their consulting practices.
The designation also gives approved firms international visibility and opportunities to:
- Use the CMC-Firm branding in their marketing
- Be listed in the international CMC-Firm directory
- Participate in a global network of approved consulting firms
- Develop relationships with firms in other geographic markets
- Reinforce their commitment to ethics and professional standards with clients
For boutique and growing consulting firms, the CMC-Firm designation offers another way to demonstrate that the firm’s professionalism goes beyond individual expertise.
Meet QuantumMark LLC, the First U.S. CMC-Firm
QuantumMark was founded by Diane Borhani CMC® and Suzanne March CMC® in the mid-1990s.
The firm provides project management and management consulting services, including change management, organization design, capacity planning, reengineering and process management, technology implementation, and training.
QuantumMark has developed particular expertise in vital records and public health consulting while serving clients across the United States and internationally.
QuantumMark’s CMC-Firm designation recognizes not simply what the firm does, but the professional standards behind how it serves clients.
What Does It Take to Become a CMC-Firm?
ICMCI evaluates CMC Firms applicants in seven primary areas:
- Commitment of Firm to Professional Code of Conduct
- Use of the Enforceable Code of Ethics & professional conduct evidence in Firm processes
- Careful consideration in selecting and hiring new consultants
- Use of consultant performance evaluations and reporting by clients
- Commitment of Firm to core competencies, skills and tools
- Supervision, mentoring and provision of feedback to consultants
- Minimum number of CMCs in the Firm
The evaluation looks beyond whether a firm employs CMCs. It examines whether professional standards are embedded in the way the firm operates and develops its consultants.
For firm with ten or fewer employees, at least one CMC® is required. Firms with ten to fifty employees require two CMCs, while firms with over fifty employees require at least three.
IMC USA processes the individual CMC® certification in the United States. ICMCI/CMC-Global processes the CMC-Firm application, appraisal and approval process.
