The IMC USA Consultant Directory is live on the IMC USA website, creating a new opportunity for members to showcase their expertise and connect with prospective clients, referral partners, and fellow consultants. While updating your profile may feel like an administrative task, it is worth remembering that your directory listing may become someone’s first impression of you and your practice.
Three Questions Every Consultant Directory Profile Should Answer
When a visitor finds your profile, they should be able to answer three questions in less than a minute:
Who do you help? What problems do you solve? Why should someone contact you?
Who Do You Help?
Many consultant profiles focus on the consultant. The best profiles focus on the client.
Describe the industries, organizations, and leaders you serve. Be specific. The clearer you are about your ideal clients, the easier it becomes for prospective clients and fellow IMC members to recognize opportunities to engage you or refer business your way.
What Problems Do You Solve?
Clients are looking for solutions, not biographies.
Clearly identify your consulting specialties, areas of expertise, certifications, and industry experience. More importantly, explain the challenges you help clients overcome and the outcomes you help them achieve. A visitor should quickly understand where you create value and when they should think of you.
Why Should Someone Contact You?
Help visitors understand what makes you uniquely qualified to assist them.
Highlight relevant accomplishments, certifications, publications, speaking experience, and professional affiliations. Make it easy for people to learn more about you by ensuring your website, LinkedIn profile, email address, and phone number are current and accurate.
